Coming together for change on 9th Sept! Andy, Rethink Airport Expansion…

11am. Wednesday 9th September, College Green, Westminster (opposite the House of Commons).
Note that the site was formerly known as Abingdon Street Gardens (and is still coming up on some maps as that name). See map below for exact location.
Note change of time and location – changed from 12pm at Old Palace Yard.
As the UK is set for the hottest summer on record, the government’s commitment to aviation expansion remains unshaken by the evidence on the climate impacts, the weak economic benefits, and the noise and air pollution inflicted on communities.
Ahead of Parliament voting on Heathrow this autumn and decisions being made on regional airports such as Leeds/Bradford and Bristol, we’re inviting representatives of airport campaign groups around the country to come to Westminster, bringing messages from their communities and sharing what we can do at this pivotal time. Decisions made in the autumn could shape aviation policy for years.
Please do join us if you believe that our new Prime Minister should rethink airport expansion during this ongoing climate crisis!
The event will be followed by a meeting for aviation campaigners at nearby offices in Lambeth so we can share updates and discuss future strategy.
