Campaigners challenge UK government’s Jet Zero strategy in court

Campaigners were outside the Royal Court of Justice in London yesterday whilst legal teams representing campaign groups Possible and the Group Against Leeds Bradford Airport (GALBA) were engaged in the first of a four-day challenge of the UK Government’s Jet Zero strategy in Court 37. The claimants argue that the Jet Zero Strategy relies on speculative, risky  technologies and that ministers failed to consider the need for demand management properly, contradicting expert advice and risking failure to deliver on the UK’s net zero targets.
